DENBA JAPAN (HQ in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President：Kanetaka Goto) received the "Technology Innovation Award," an award given to companies that have contributed to outstanding technological innovation in the "Logistics Grand Prix" sponsored by the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems (JILS) on August 1. DENBA JAPAN receives this award in recognition of the company's "Logistics system with freshness preservation utilizing a brand new technology.

DENBA JAPAN will continue to work together with many other companies and organizations to promote innovation in cold chain technology in Japan and around the world.

Reasons for the award
In the cold chain industry, especially for food, there are many cases in which food ingredients are forced to change their transportation plans due to risks arising from bad weather or other factors, or are wasted due to deterioration. If the freshness of food ingredients can be maintained over a long period of time, not only can sales channels be expanded through long-distance transportation, but the related labor environment can also be improved by leveling the workload.

Based on this awareness, this initiative aims to reduce food loss, optimize the food distribution process from the production area to the consumer, and build a new cold chain infrastructure. The report also introduces five case studies of food product freshness management methods using DENBA (Freshness Retention Technology), as well as the results of reducing food waste and expanding sales channels by improving freshness and lead time, achieving long-term storage of processed food products, and improving freshness and traceability in overseas ocean transportation, transportation to remote islands, collection at the production center, and transportation to the destination.
The scale and technological innovativeness of the initiatives, including abundant examples of logistics units that have implemented freshness retention technology, were both highly evaluated.
